The role
An opening has arisen for an Applications Analyst to join the Enterprise Business Systems team in IT Services. The team is responsible for the maintenance of several core applications, including Oracle CRM and Oracle Financials.
Oracle eBusiness Suite (EBS), and in particular for this role, the CRM implementation, supports a wide range of business functions in the University. These add value and effectiveness to business processes and our interaction with stakeholders. Oracle CRM provides a range of functionality underpinning our core systems and data model. This includes identity management, student CRM, organisation mastering, ID card printing, maintenance & fulfilment, and interfaces into other key systems.
The Applications Analyst role will cover a range of activities including reactive support, planned maintenance, applications and DB upgrade support, and any required changes. You will also be expected to help with the application functionality and operation associated with CRM’s technical operating environment. This includes but is not limited to systems architecture, file systems, databases, interfaces, OS and delivery platform. Although primarily for Oracle CRM, the role may also involve support to other Oracle eBusiness Suite systems longer term.
The Applications Analyst role involves working with business users and IT colleagues across IT Services to understand issues and requirements, to troubleshoot, define and develop fixes and solutions, and to put these into place. This will primarily be a day-to-day 1st line support role, however assignments to ongoing upgrade projects within Enterprise Business Systems may form part of this role.
The role will also require the candidate to be flexible and able to support other applications where required. In particular, there may be a requirement to support Research Information Management Systems such as Elsevier Pure. Training will be provided where required.
