This Role

An opening has arisen for a Developer within the IT Engineering Applications function. You will be responsible for designing and developing Power BI dashboards and datasets. You will liaise with IT and business colleagues to enable the effective use of data. You will write and communicate data and analytics documentation, and support and maintain the effective operational running of analytics systems. It is also expected that you will maintain strong technical and industry knowledge of data and analytics technology.

Your key role and responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, developing and testing Power BI dashboards and datasets
  • Power BI Premium – Tenancy Administration
  • Liaising with IT and business colleagues to gather, write and prioritise requirements
  • Mentoring and championing good design process within our Power BI Community of Practise
  • Enabling the University teams to be more effective in using data
  • Writing and communicating data and analytics documentation
  • Supporting and maintaining effective operational running of analytics systems
  • Maintaining strong technical and industry knowledge of data and analytics technology
  • Working with Project Managers, Product Managers and senior stakeholders to define and deliver technical solutions.
  • Helping support the existing solutions and providing assistance according to SLAs.

  • Advanced use of Power BI

  • Proficiency in DAX
  • Experience with SQL and knowledge of database modelling

  • Ability to clearly and concisely document solutions
