HospitalityOnCampus
HospitalityOnCampus is the newest part of University Catering, formed during the pandemic to bring together two teams to deliver one seamless hospitality service to the University. It is responsible for the provision of all hospitality, events and dining services across the university campus, including within some key, iconic venues and facilities such as Manchester Museum and Whitworth Art Gallery.

With such a varied range of business across the week, the department is always a buzz of activity – no two days are ever the same. The business operates 7-days a week, accommodating events and hospitality both daytime and evenings across the week, including weekends.
About this Role
HospitalityOnCampus is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join its administration team as Wedding and Events Coordinator.
The successful candidate will take on the responsibility for being the main point of contact for weddings and events within the department, working with customers, and key internal and external stakeholders to sell and coordinate activity across campus venues.
Taking on the responsibility for converting in-coming booking enquiries for weddings and events, the candidate will provide timely show rounds of venues and quotations so as to maximise business and revenue potential. Accurate administration in support of all bookings, from enquiry through to the conclusion of the event, will be essential, working with clients (organisers) to ensure that their event, services and facilities are delivered to the agreed quality and standards at all times.
Working with the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will help to plan and deliver University ceremonial events and functions, working with colleagues across the University on a wide range events that require attention to detail, thorough discussion and planning.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to organise weddings and events in some of the University’s most historic, and iconic venues, including The Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester Museum and Whitworth Hall.
Applicants must have a Hospitality and/or business-related subject qualification. They should have wedding/event/hospitality knowledge, service and skins gained in a similarly-diverse environment, together with demonstrable knowledge and skills of delivering customer service excellence.
Sound written and verbal communication, together with a good understanding of IT and industry-relevant software are key to this role, together with a thorough understanding of event administration and financial responsibilities.
A natural positive attitude towards a busy/pressurised environment and the ability to work flexibly across the week to the requirements the business is essential to this role.
This is a full-time role, working 40 hours a week across 5 days out of 7, including evenings and weekends to suit the needs of the events that are taking place.
