Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to work within the Manchester Clinical Trials Unit (Manchester CTU) providing clinical trial management support for clinical trials. The Manchester CTU is an essential core resource for clinical and academic investigators and provides a wide range of services supporting the conduct of investigator-initiated clinical trials across Greater Manchester, the North West and the UK.  The unit is a fully registered UKCRC Clinical Trials Unit and works in partnership with investigators across all disease types, phases of research and methodologies, in order to deliver high quality research.

The successful candidate will ensure that the rights, safety and well-being of subjects are protected, and that trial data are credible, accurate and verifiable in the source documents, by performing source data verification on site and remotely. In addition, you will provide monitoring support for the set-up, conduct and closure of academic led, multi-centre randomised controlled trials. A key element of this role is ensuring that the trial is being conducted in compliance with regulatory requirements, including ICH Good Clinical Practice (GCP).

You must be an excellent communicator and will be expected to work proactively with key internal and external stakeholders of the clinical trials teams, including the Clinical Trials Manager, data management, statisticians, all investigator site staff, principal and chief investigators.

The ideal candidate will be degree educated in a scientific discipline or have relevant experience in scientific or medical research.  You will have a key eye for detail; be able to write and analyze reports interpreting and presenting data clearly.  You must be able to work independently, managing your own workload, and as part of a multidisciplinary team.  Experience of working with databases and spreadsheets is essential for this role.

As an equal opportunities employer we welcome applicants from all sections of the community regardless of age, sex, gender (or gender identity), ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation and transgender status.  All appointments are made on merit.
