Job Description

The University invites applications for a Grade 3 Administrative Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to join the UK Data Service User Support and Training team. The post is based at the Cathie Marsh Institute. The post will be on a full-time basis until 31 March 2024. 

This post-holder will join the successful UK Data Service (UKDS) team within the Cathie Marsh Institute for Social Research at the University of Manchester. The postholder will have responsibility for assisting the G4 Training Administrator with the administration of the UKDS flagship training programme. They will provide administrative support for the UKDS team in key areas of events, maintenance of website content, communications/marketing and office administration. The training activities run throughout the year and require a well-organised and responsible person to support them.

The UKDS is a resource funded by the ESRC to support researchers, policymakers and Higher Education teachers. It provides access to an extensive range of high quality economic and social data. The UK Data Service also provides a wealth of training events (webinar and workshops) and online training/support materials such as guides, video tutorials and helpdesk support. The Training function of the UK Data Service is led by the Cathie Marsh Institute but delivered by all UK Data Service partners.
