Job Description

Pre-sessional EAP Tutors (6-week)

We appreciate that Pre-sessional courses are demanding, but we also think they should be rewarding. In that spirit, we want to work with tutors who will thrive in this environment. In return, we will try to create a workplace where the ambitious and enthusiastic develop and ultimately benefit from their experience with us.

You will receive a competitive salary, a fully paid induction programme and holiday pay. Those teaching our campus-based course and living over 30 miles away from the University will also have the option of free, self-catering University accommodation close to the campus and city centre. Eligible tutors can also join the University’s Pension Scheme.

We do recognise you will come with your own personality and set of skills, and we believe that you will use these to help our students succeed.  You will bring your expertise in teaching EAP to the classroom and will happily share this with colleagues.  You will work in a hard-working and skilled teaching team and will be supported by like-minded colleagues. As a Centre we value collaboration, quality teaching and a positive student experience.

Our 6-week Pre-sessional is planned to be on campus and online. Preference will be given to tutors who are able to teach both.

All tutors must have the right to work in the UK and be based in the UK for the duration of their contract.

Contract Type:  Fixed Term, Full Time

Course Dates:   23rd July - 6th September 2024

These dates are inclusive of a 4-day fully paid induction programme when we will guide and support you through the course materials and assessment. This induction is compulsory and forms part of the offered contract.

To ensure the best student experience, we need all our tutors to be available for the whole programme – you will take your accrued holiday after the end of the course.

Closing date: Friday 24th May 2024

Interviews will take place online from 26th February on a rolling basis.
