Job Description

The Department of Sociology is seeking to appoint two Lecturers and one Senior Lecturer in Sociology (Teaching & Research). We are particularly interested in receiving applications from sociologists with expertise in and publication profiles the following areas: ‘race’ and ethnicity; health; ageing; and social media and social networks (quantitative). Two of the posts will require methods expertise in quantitative or mixed methods Social Network Analysis. We are also keen to appoint candidates with expertise in survey methods.

We wish to appoint innovative, engaging and dynamic colleagues who will be able to enhance the quality of our teaching and research. You will teach sociology modules related to your area of expertise and will, as necessary, also contribute to core methods and theory teaching in sociology. Colleagues on the Teaching and Research track are also expected to contribute to the research agenda of the Department of Sociology.

Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent qualification in Sociology or a cognate discipline.

  • Presentations to the department on Wednesday 5th June 2024
