Job Description

Applications are invited for the positions of Lecturer (Assistant Professor) / Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Marketing. The successful candidates will join the vibrant Marketing Group within Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS). The advertised positions are teaching-and-research focused. Successful applicants are expected to contribute to AMBS’s reputation for world-class research, publish their research in leading international journals, and lead and develop expertise in key areas through both research and engagement.

The positions offer internationally competitive salary, reasonable teaching load, generous research support, and a vibrant environment committed to producing world-leading research, delivering excellent teaching, and generating economic and societal impact. Successful applicants will be appointed at Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level, depending on experience and standing. The positions are permanent, subject to probation at Lecturer level.

We will support the successful applicants in pursuing exciting and innovative research agendas in the field of marketing. We are particularly eager to hear from applicants with research and/or teaching interests and expertise in one or more of the following areas: advanced quantitative marketing research (e.g. modelling, text analysis); retail marketing; consumer behaviour / behavioural economics (incl. experimental design); digital marketing; business-to-business marketing / marketing strategy.

As members of the Marketing Group, successful applicants will teach on related degree programmes at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels; the Group offers MSc in Marketing and MSc in Digital Marketing programmes and contributes to several other programmes within the School and wider University. The standard model is 40% of time focused on research and scholarship, 40% on teaching, and 20% on service and leadership. New lecturers enjoy a three-year probation period with a reduced teaching load.
