B.15 workshop provides consultancy and practical assistance for student modelmaking projects at the Manchester School of Architecture (MSA) which is a joint institution run by both Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) and UoM staff. The school is ranked as 5th Globally in the QS world subject rankings and 2nd in the UK. The workshop team works with technical and academic staff at all levels of MSA and across both institutions supporting Undergraduate and Postgraduate student coursework and research requirements concerning physical modelmaking. The school has over 1000 students.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Workshops Technician to join our dynamic technical operations team, which strives to provide a sector leading technical support for SEED and the wider Humanities Faculty. With a commitment to customer service excellence and a passion for creating, the Workshops Technician will provide an agile technical support service to staff and students to support teaching, research and professional services. This is an exciting opportunity to join us in Manchester and contribute to the provision of a sector leading technical service.

The primary responsibility of the post-holder is to support the provision of model making within the workshops, including three-dimensional construction projects using Card/Paper, Wood, Plastics, Additive Manufacturing and moulding and casting materials.

The post-holder will be based in the B.15 Architecture workshop spaces. This role will increase the technical support provision within the workshops, working closely with the in-post Technical / workshop staff.
