The Department of Computer Science is investing for growth in Computer Engineering and Architecture, as the enabling activity for these areas, and more. As a member of staff you will contribute to our international portfolio of research in Advanced Processor Technologies (APT), informed by real-world applications, and be willing to engage across discipline boundaries to apply your work. We are seeking to make one appointment in the area of biologically-inspired computing to take forwards the work with the SpiNNaker team in the EU Human Brain Project and beyond.
You will join the Advanced Processor Technologies group – www.cs.manchester.ac.uk/apt - though be part of the wider pan-university community. There are activities across the University that are potential collaborators for work in the APT group, including Machine Learning (in the Department of Computer Science) and Cognitive Robotics (in Computer Science and Electrical and Electronic Engineering). In 2018 the University has joined the Alan Turing Institute, the UK national institute for AI and Data Science.
