
The University of Manchester is leading the Future Biomanufacturing Research Hub (Future BRH, https://futurebrh.com/) with reseach Spokes at Imperial, UCL, Nottingham, IBioIC, CPI, and the UK Catalysis Hub. At the Future BRH we are developing industrial biotechnology towards efficient and sustainable bio-based manufacturing for key UK sectors: Pharmaceuticals, Chemicals, Engineering Materials and Fuels. By connecting interdisciplinary discovery science together with industry we are devloping innovative biomanufacturing solutions to help support the growing bio-economy.
We are looking for a Research Fellow to join our interdisciplinary Future BRH team who are working on a mix of industrial biotechnology and biomanufacturing projects. This new research post will focus on developing and employing biocatalysts, and their application in a wide range of formats (e.g., flow biocatalysis, cascade biocatalysis, single step biocatalysis, chemo-biocatalysis) for biomanufacturing. You will be based in the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology (MIB) which is a cross-disciplinary research centre and part of the University of Manchester (UoM).
Appointed at this senior research grade, you are expected to have a broad vision, creativity and experience to deliver an exciting research portfolio working collaboratively with our academic and industrial partners across multiple projects. Appointments at Grade 6 will be considered for promising candidates without the broader experience.
