Job Description

Providing an international experience and placement opportunities for all our students is central to The University of Manchester’s Global Influence Strategy and our teaching and learning. 

The Placements and International Programmes Office (PIP) is responsible for the governance and business processes for all UK and International Placements including student exchanges/study abroad, work placements and fieldwork.  PIP leads on the promotion, administration and management of overseas opportunities for Manchester students and works closely with partners across the globe.  This is an exciting time to join an expanding team as we seek to rebuild and grow study abroad and work placements post-pandemic, maximising opportunities from new internal investment as well as the Turing Scheme to contribute to the creation of a generation of global change makers. 

The Placements and International Programmes Officer will join an established and expanding team.  The role includes line management responsibility for a team, responsibility for a portfolio of countries and partners (including contract negotiation and supporting partnership development), co-ordination of a range of business processes and process improvement, and emergency response co-ordination.  The postholder sits on the PIP Management Team.

Significant prior experience of working in the field of international mobility is required.
