
The Law School sits within the School of Social Sciences and is a research-oriented department delivering excellent teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate students. To further strengthen our research and teaching portfolio, in line with our strategic objectives, the department wishes to appoint a Lecturer in Bioethics. The post is available from 1 September 2021.
We are seeking to complement the department with a new appointment with the potential to further enhance the quality of our future research within the Centre for Social Ethics and Policy (CSEP). Established in 1987, CSEP has been at the forefront of teaching and research in healthcare law and bioethics for decades. Further details are available at https://www.socialsciences.manchester.ac.uk/csep/ Teaching duties will include lecturing and/or tutoring in one or more of the core and elective areas of philosophical bioethics, jurisprudence, and legal ethics at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Applicants must have a relevant PhD (or equivalent) and demonstrate the ability to produce high quality publications, meet flexible curricular and teaching needs, and demonstrate capability to contribute organisationally to the wider School community.
