Job Description

The University of Manchester alongside Manchester Metropolitan University is working in partnership with the Rugby Football Union (RFU), to grow Rugby for the students across both Universities.

The Universities are looking to appoint a Rugby Development Intern to organise Rugby programmes targeted at those players below the BUCS representative level, both internally to the Universities and linking to local community clubs.

You will coordinate and develop relationships with cluster partners across the institutions as well as the RFU, internal schools and departments, local community rugby clubs and the University Rugby teams. You will co-ordinate the effective administration of these relationships and the wider cluster programme to ensure that both RFU and internal University targets are met in regards to participation and retention. You will also use these skills to develop wider sport programmes in line with the UoM Sport Strategy.

We are therefore looking for an enthusiastic and engaging individual with knowledge of the Higher Education sector, specifically within Rugby and ideally with a good understanding of the wider sports environment.

You will get access to a range of personal development to meet their future career aspirations including support towards sports coaching and officiating as well as the opportunity work and link with a major National Governing Body in the RFU.

The University of Manchester values a diverse workforce and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.

The role is for anyone who has graduated University in last 12 months.

As an equal opportunities employer we welcome applicants from all sections of the community regardless of age, sex, gender (or gender identity), ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation and transgender status.  All appointments are made on merit.

Blended working arrangements may be considered
