Job Description

The University of Manchester seeks to appoint a Research Associate in Geography and is looking for applications from candidates who specialize in geographical information science and ecological modelling and can contribute to research-informed teaching that complements our existing clusters of activity.

You will undertake research and project management duties within the project Creative Adaptive Solutions for the Treescapes Of Rivers (CASTOR). They will be in charge of ensuring that the project progresses in line with anticipated schedules and deliverables, while liaising with relevant partners and stakeholders. The post holder will undertake quantitative geo-spatial and statistical analysis of ecological processes and feedbacks impacting riparian treescapes and their expansion. The post holder will also be tasked with preparing and writing project reports, peer-reviewed publications and follow-on funding applications linked to the project.

The University invites applications for the above post which is tenable from September 2021, or as soon as possible thereafter.

Salary will be Grade 6 (spine point 6.1 to 6.3, £33,309 to £35,326 per annum pro rata) according to relevant experience.
