Your role will be to expand the library of video recordings of adults and children with speech and language disorders for the purpose of teaching clinical skills to pre-qualification speech and language therapy students.
You will contact speech and language therapy departments across the North West and arrange permission to visit and make high quality video and audio recordings of clinical sessions. You will ensure that written permission is gained prior to making the recordings for all those in the recordings, including speech and language therapy staff, and explain to parents and carers how the recordings will be used in accordance with GDPR.
You will make high quality digital video and audio recordings of speech and language therapists undertaking speech and language assessments using picture book, toys, sound and word repetition and other techniques.
You will then edit and transcribe the videos in English and transcribe in IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) the child/young person/adults’ speech. Experience of audio and video editing and be able to process, transport and upload videos securely is required.
You should be prepared to travel with recording equipment. The ability to drive would be desirable. The role involves contact with children, young people and vulnerable adults. Therefore, you will be required to have an Enhance DBS certificate.
