Job Description

Background to the role:

Are you a finance or accounting professional looking for a role that’s a bit different?  Where you can use your skill to help raise funds for projects that change the world?  How would you like to join one of the UK’s most successful and dynamic university fundraising teams, as we prepare to launch our first ever major fundraising and engagement campaign?

Manchester people are different. We share a pioneering spirit and the courage to make a difference. If you have a desire to create a healthier, fairer and more sustainable world, we’d love to hear from you.

Sound exciting? We think so too.

This vital role will work with fundraising and engagement colleagues to develop campaign goals.  You will ensure that financial processes effectively support the management of campaign income.

You will play a crucial part in the University’s fundraising operation.  You will be responsible for effective gift management to support our donor experience, fundraisers and governance requirements.  You will support fundraisers to bring in transformational gifts and report on the impact of those gifts to our donors by assisting with information on costs, budgets and spending.

You’ll join a friendly, collaborative and high-performing team; full of people who care deeply about what they do. Driven by the desire to make a difference, we encourage our teams to be ambitious and bold, to stretch themselves and to not be afraid to try something new.

This role is suitable for a secondment.

As an equal opportunity employer, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons and all appointments will be made on merit. As we are committed to the principles of the Race Equality Charter Mark, we would particularly welcome applications from the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) community who are currently under-represented at this level in this area.
