Job Description

The University of Manchester is looking to appoint a full-time Learning Technologist, who will join the Education Development Team within the newly formed Division of Student and Academic Services.

You will support the design of high quality and effective online and blended learning that enhances education provision across the University of Manchester, and in particular for University College for Interdisciplinary Learning (UCIL) and the Ethical Grand Challenges (EGC). Working as part of a small Education Development team, you will work closely with Academic colleagues to produce high quality and engaging online material for UG and PGT students.

You will have:

  • Significant experience of using learning design methodologies and of proven impact on the design and online delivery of units or programmes of study.
  • Proven experience of working with academic/teaching staff to plan, design, develop, test and evaluate digital learning approaches and/or resources as a core part of a course unit or programme of study.
  • Experience of using eLearning-related software applications, for example, familiarity with some or all of the following: using graphic/photographic packages, video production and post production editing using Adobe Premiere Pro or equivalent, web conferencing, eLearning authoring packages and web design, web coding using html/CSS etc.
  • Significant experience in the development of creative online learning activities and materials for delivery in a blended or fully online environment.
  • Experience of working with, and complying with standards and guidance relating to accessibility, usability, data protection, copyright and intellectual property for online learning and data.
