Job Description

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research associate position to work with Dr Joan Chang (MRC CDA Research Fellow) in the Division of Molecular and Cellular Function (MCF, https://www.research.manchester.ac.uk/portal/en/facultiesandschools/division-of-molecular--cellular-function(9e72f880-7672-4a20-8287-274f88f17f5f).html), and Wellcome Centre for Cell Matrix Research (WCCMR, http://www.wellcome-matrix.org). Collagen is one of the most abundant proteins in the human body, and dysregulation of its homeostasis underpins many diseases. This is a new and exciting project aiming to elucidate the molecular mechanisms involved in collagen trafficking and the regulation of collagen fibres, and how fibroblasts and myeloid cells coordinate to form this matrix, in the context of healthy and fibrotic tissues.

You will have a Ph.D. degree (or about to be awarded a Ph.D. degree) or equivalent in cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry or a related area of research. Further details of the successful candidate can be found in the job particulars.

Duties will include design of experiments, data analysis, presentation of work and preparation of papers for publication.

This is a full-time fixed term appointment starting 01 July 2022, or as soon as possible thereafter, and is funded for 3 years in the first instance.
