Job Description

We are appointing a Research Associate in Lattice Boltzmann modelling of salt precipitation. Your overall purpose is ​​​​​​​to develop and validate a lattice-Boltzmann model which multiphase flow, thermodynamics, phase change and geochemistry to simulate salt precipitation during injection of CO2 into porous media and to carry out pore-scale micromodel and X-ray imaging experiments for model validation. ​​​​​​​

The range of duties will include:

  • Extend the existing CUDA-LB model to include phase change and salt precipitation during CO2 injection.
  • Set-up and perform pore-scale micromodel experiments.
  • Set-up and perform X-ray imaging experiments
