Job Description

The Division of Molecular and Cellular Function in the School of Biological Sciences seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Molecular and Cellular Biology. We are looking for outstanding scientists that are addressing fundamental aspects of molecular, cell or developmental biology that complement the current research within the Division. Applicants working on advanced imaging, cutting edge molecular approaches, or cross-disciplinary research are particularly welcome, but we encourage applications from across the spectrum of molecular, cell or developmental biology.

You will be appointed to an academic teaching and research position and will be able to seize on the opportunities available from the unique environment offered in Manchester for collaboration with colleagues working in fundamental discovery biology through to those with a more clinical focus.

You will contribute to the development and delivery of our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and will participate in the successful mentoring and supervision of our cohort of postgraduate researchers and junior academic staff.

You will have a PhD (or equivalent) and established publication record in molecular, cell or developmental biology as well as the ability to communicate your research successfully to a wide audience. A commitment to teaching and learning is essential. We would particularly welcome applications from those who have previously attracted external funding for their research.
