Geography in Manchester was ranked 8th in the world by the 2014 QS rankings. Our innovative and thriving teaching programme is delivered to around 550 undergraduate and 90 postgraduate students.
We are looking to appoint an outstanding individual who will enhance our research, grant winning and teaching profiles. We prefer candidates who offer expertise that complements the work of our vibrant Social and Cultural Geography Research group, one of three research clusters in human geography. Geography sits in the multi-disciplinary School of Education, Environment & Development and staff enjoy collaboration with colleagues in many other fields.
You will need a PhD in a relevant discipline, with a strong record of research achievement and publication in social and cultural geography, teaching experience in higher education, and a strong record of research grant applications, appropriate to your career stage.
This vacancy is available from 1 January 2016.
As an equal opportunities employer, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons. However, as black and minority ethnic (BME) candidates are currently under-represented at this level in this area, we would particularly welcome applications from BME applicants. All appointments will be made on merit.
