The University of Manchester alongside Manchester Metropolitan University is working in partnership with the Rugby Football Union (RFU), to grow Rugby for the students across both Universities.
The Universities are looking to appoint a Rugby Development Intern to organise Rugby programmes targeted at those players below the BUCS representative level, both internally to the Universities and linking to local community clubs.
The successful candidate will coordinate and develop relationships with cluster partners across the institutions as well as the RFU, internal schools and departments, local community rugby clubs and the University Rugby teams. They will coordinate the effective administration of these relationships and the wider cluster programme to ensure that both RFU and internal University targets are met in regards to participation and retention.
We are therefore looking for an enthusiastic and engaging individual with knowledge of the Higher Education sector, specifically within Rugby and ideally with a good understanding of the wider sports environment.
The successful candidate will get access to a range of personal development to meet their future career aspirations including support towards sports coaching and officiating as well as the opportunity to work and link with a major National Governing Body in the RFU.
As an equal opportunities employer we welcome applicants from all sections of the community regardless of gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation and transgender status. All appointments are made on merit.
