The Faculty’s Digital Marketing Team have commenced an exciting project to review and re-launch the web presence for all Schools within the Faculty of Science and Engineering at the University of Manchester. We are looking for an interim Web, Content and Digital Marketing Manager to lead the Faculty Digital Marketing team to take this forward. This is a large and ambitious project, which will be critical to establish a solid foundation of digital best practice for the Faculty to build on to support goals across student recruitment and external relations and engagement.

Reporting directly to the Head of Faculty Communications and Marketing, you will lead the team to provide best in class digital presence across the Faculty’s nine Schools and many research institutes and centres across the Faculty of Science and Engineering.

You will liaise with the many stakeholders across the Faculty to ensure the team create and maintain a high quality digital presence which is aligned to Faculty strategic objectives and priorities. You will support the team as they drive forwards the creation of intuitive and informative websites for external audiences, in accordance with University guidelines, industry best practice and Faculty objectives. You are a confident, collaborative and visible team leader with extensive experience of managing medium-sized digital content and technical teams. You will also be comfortable managing complex digital ecosystems, and are experienced in directing large-scale website projects with multiple stakeholders and clear delivery deadlines. You will also be confident in providing practical support and advice on creating engaging, meaningful and impactful digital experiences for external and internal web users, in accordance with University guidelines and industry best practice.

You will deploy a successful mix of project, stakeholder and line management skills to ensure the Faculty’s digital presence is intuitive and innovative and resonates with target audiences. You will also represent the Faculty on many decision making steering groups across the University and lead as an active brand ambassador and support the overarching University’s digital vision.

A natural ability to manage a high volume of demand and effectively prioritise whilst providing team direction will be required. You will need to work to specific milestones and have a strong collaborative approach supported by clear communication. You will lead an energetic, ambitious and creative team based within the Faculty and working directly with digital, marketing and communications professionals at local and corporate levels. Due to the fast pace and rapid development within the digital landscape, you will take an adaptable and flexible approach to work and be a natural leader of change.
