Professor Richard Winpenny will be standing down as Head of School in March 2018 to pursue a prestigious EPSRC Established Career Fellowship.
We are now looking to appoint a Head of School who will actively engage in setting the strategic direction of the School both nationally and internationally as well as undertaking and directing original research of international standing and developing the teaching programmes.
To be successful in the role you must be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to the goals and vision of the School, Faculty and University and show the ability to create a sense of unity and common purpose.
You will be a highly motivated leader; a strategic thinker with an open, collegial, leadership style and a proven ability to build strong relationships with all colleagues based on the pursuit of common goals. Additionally, you will possess the academic credentials necessary to shape the discipline nationally and internationally through learned societies, professional bodies or equivalent structures.
You will have a strong record of academic achievement, and leadership experience, which will command the respect of colleagues.
