Applications are invited for an outstanding, collegiate individual to be appointed to an academic research and teaching position in inorganic chemistry. Appointment will be made at Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Reader, or Chair level commensurate with the track record of the successful applicant. Candidates must hold a doctorate in inorganic chemistry, be able to demonstrate extensive postdoctoral experience, and be motivated with excellent interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills.
We welcome applications from candidates with research interests across the breadth of inorganic chemistry, but in particular encourage applicants whose research interests include main group chemistry and catalysis. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of high-quality research and publications, be able to show a commitment to the delivery of teaching excellence, and demonstrate imaginative research plans to establish or maintain new or existing programmes of research. Senior appointments will also demonstrate a proven track record of grant income, mentoring colleagues, providing academic leadership, and building teams and effective working relationships.
The post-holder will be required to pursue original research in order to deliver internationally leading and rigorous outputs, secure external funding, and carry out teaching, administrative, and other reasonable duties as required at undergraduate and graduate level. Senior appointments will be expected to promote excellence in research and teaching within the School, mentor and support the careers of junior colleagues, and promote interdisciplinary working.
