The John Rylands Research Institute wishes to appoint a Research Associate to work on the University of Manchester’s world-class Persian Manuscript Collection. The successful candidate is expected to hold a Ph.D. in Persianate studies or a related area, ideally dealing with Persian book culture, possess an excellent command of Persian and Arabic and have extensive experience of cataloguing manuscripts in Persian scripts. Knowledge of other languages, such as Urdu, will be a distinct advantage. In addition, applicants should be highly motivated and enthusiastic, have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, and be able to work independently to meet strict deadlines.
Interviews will take place in early September.
