Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer in Spanish Cultural Studies, which is tenable from 1 September 2019.
You must have a PhD in a relevant field and demonstrable teaching experience in Spanish cultural studies at university level. Preference may be given to candidates who work on Spanish visual culture, or who have experience teaching Golden Age literature. Only applicants with high quality publications will be considered. You must be fluent in English and Spanish. Some involvement in the language teaching activities of the department will be non-negotiable. The following would be highly desirable: record of grant capture and PhD supervision, experience of assessing translation at undergraduate level, and experience developing online teaching materials. You must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to empathise with students.
As an equal opportunities employer, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons and all appointments will be made on merit. As we are committed to the principles of the Race Equality Charter Mark, we would particularly welcome applications from the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) community who are currently under-represented at this level in this area.
