The Global Development Institute wishes to recruit a Lecturer in Human Resource Management (International Development) to provide leadership in the teaching, academic supervision and pastoral care of students undertaking master’s programmes, principally MSc HRM (International Development), within the Management, Governance and Development (MGD) cluster.
You are expected to contribute to, and develop, the Institute’s research-informed teaching programmes, primarily those in Human Resource Management. This includes convening MGD course units such as Human Resource Practice 2, Managing Quality in Development and Research Methods for Human Resource Management and Development and the supervision of students in the dissertation component of their programme.
The post is specifically designed to lead MSc HRM students’ learning throughout the academic year, in particular by enriching their formal on-campus learning with off-campus organisation-based experiential learning experience. To achieve this end, it offers these students appropriately focussed support for their learning, not only within the formal context of the University in seminars, tutorials and lectures but also beyond the University, by facilitating access to professional contexts of practice in UK organisational contexts.
The post start date is August 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Interviews are likely to be held in late July 2019.
As an equal opportunities employer we welcome applicants from all sections of the community regardless of gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation and transgender status. All appointments are made on merit.
