An opportunity exists to assist The University of Manchester in meeting its environmental sustainability objectives. You will be responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of the University’s approach to campus wide sustainability initiatives, specifically lab sustainability, sustainable design and construction and strategic waste management.
You will implement measures to support the implementation of the University’s Sustainable Resources Plan; this includes providing support on the calculation of the University’s Scope 3 emissions together with the collection of data relevant for the environmental management of the University.
You will possess an appropriate academic qualification to degree level in an environmental related discipline, or extensive experience in a similar role. You will have experience in the implementation of Environmental Sustainability related Strategies. Experience and an appreciation of issues relating to the implementation and monitoring of plans and targets to promote and deliver sustainable design, construction and operation of University buildings, focusing on resource efficiency, lab sustainability and waste reduction (specifically plastics and food).
