Three Research Associate positions are available for outstanding and ambitious chemists to join Prof. Igor Larrosa’s team at the University of Manchester, working on Organic Chemistry and Catalysis.

The Larrosa group’s research interests are in the areas of decarboxylative and C–H activation. The activation of inert C–H bonds and their transformation into versatile functionalities is an exciting field in synthetic organic chemistry that represents an important advance towards atom and step economy. This project will involve the development of novel metal catalysed C–H activation based transformations. In particular, this project aims at the design and development of novel multi-metallic catalytic cycles able to form carbon-carbon and carbon-heteroatom bonds between two coupling partners via green activation methods, with a particular emphasis on late stage functionalisation.

You will have a PhD or equivalent in chemistry, with a proven track record in catalysis, organic and/or organometallic chemistry. The positions are full time and available from September 2019 for up to two years, in the first instance.
