The Student Recruitment and Widening Participation team is responsible for ensuring that the University can identify and recruit students of outstanding achievement and potential from all educational backgrounds and encouraging progression into higher education more generally, particularly within its local communities.  This work entails raising awareness of the benefits of The University of Manchester and higher education among school pupils, further education students, colleges and other educational bodies.

With previous experience of delivering educational outreach, the post requires up to date knowledge of the university application process and the issues surrounding the progression of learners into higher education.  With the ability to prioritise a varied workload in a busy environment, you will have a flexible approach to work and demonstrate a creative approach to problem solving.  The post requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the experience of motivating and supervising others.

As Coordinator, you will take the lead in organising and delivering the Programme’s visit days, by producing relevant IAG for attending learners, and scheduling academic content provided by academic staff. You will also manage and coordinate the work of student ambassadors and volunteers in the delivery of Gateways, and foster effective relationships with teachers and advisers in local schools and colleges as well as colleagues from across the University.
