We have a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to manage and lead the kitchen team within Food in Residence with a professional and supportive leadership in line with customer requirements and to the agreed quality standards.
You will ensure that the food and menu production is agreed and carefully planned with the kitchen team in order for menus to be produced consistently and meet the agreed quality standards.
By undertaking the operational leadership of the Food Management Safety System, the post holder will ensure a high standard of Food Hygiene and Health and Safety Management for all kitchen services and operation, liaising as and when required with the Compliance Manager for adherence of up-to-date legal compliance.
We are seeking someone who can manage an effective allergens policy to negate risk and who will ensure team knowledge and compliance including accurate dish specifications across all elements of production and procurement are consistently achieved.
You will need to demonstrate strict and effective stock management and for the purchasing of goods though liaison with the University’s Procurement office ensuring ‘best value’ for purchased goods.
You will have a level 4 professional qualification combined with demonstrable skills and knowledge gained through relevant industry experience. Food production and kitchen management skills gained in a similar environment, a current working knowledge of Statutory Compliance, along with a thorough understanding of administration and financial responsibilities associated with Kitchen management including stock and related cost control.
