Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre is one of the University of Manchester's cultural institutions and is dedicated to engaging audiences with the science, culture, and history of Jodrell Bank Observatory via its extensive exhibitions and award-winning programme of education, events and festivals.
We are seeking to appoint an experienced Executive Assistant on a part-time basis to join our team at this exciting time as the centre embarks on a new period of major development.
You will be based at Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre in Cheshire and will be an integral part of the team, closely supporting our Director, Deputy Director, and Senior Management Team.
This position would suit someone who already has some similar experience within the higher education, cultural heritage or science engagement sector. You will have experience of providing executive support at senior level, be discrete, highly organised and self-motivated with excellent communication skills, and an ability to deal with a wide range of people.
The Discovery Centre is rurally located, 20 miles south of Manchester, and applicants will need their own means of transportation in order to travel to and from work.
As an equal opportunities employer, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons and all appointments will be made on merit. As we are committed to the principles of the Race Equality Charter Mark, we would particularly welcome applications from the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) community who are currently under-represented at this level in this area.
