The ClinPsyD team are currently setting up a new clinic designed to enhance CBT training on the programme and mental health care at the University. The clinic will provide high-intensity CBT interventions for students and staff with common mental health problems (e.g., anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder), such as those seen at step 3 within Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) services. Therapies will be delivered by students on the ClinPsyD as part of their CBT skills training and development. The new Clinical Lecturer will eventually provide weekly clinical supervision to a proportion of these students (from October 2021), contribute to the team responsible for the day to day running of the clinic, teach on CBT and supervise ClinPsyD research projects as appropriate.
You should have expertise in CBT, and professional accreditation as a CBT practitioner with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). Candidates who are BABCP accredited CBT supervisors are preferred but we will also accept applications for candidates who meet the relevant criteria for BABCP supervisor accreditation but have not yet completed that process. You must provide a covering letter to detail how you meet the essential and desirable criteria where applicable.
You will be expected to work on days that the new clinic is open (Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays). As this is a 0.5fte post, you will be expected to work 6.25 hours on each of these days. There is a small amount of flexibility around the exact hours to be worked, although this must fit in with the needs of the clinic.
As an equal opportunities employer we welcome applicants from all sections of the community regardless of gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation and transgender status. All appointments are made on merit.
Please note that we are unable to respond to enquiries, accept CVs or applications from Recruitment Agencies.
