This Postdoctoral Research Associate position in Manchester’s Particle Physics Research Group is available from October 2021 for a period of two years with a possibility of an extension to a third year. The successful applicant should have, or be about to obtain, a PhD in theoretical particle physics with an emphasis on collider phenomenology and effective field theories. The applicant will be supported by the ERC starting grant EFT4NP of Eleni Vryonidou.
The Manchester Particle Physics Theory group consists of eight academics: Richard Battye, Fedor Bezrukov, Mrinal Dasgupta, Jeff Forshaw, Jonathan Richard Gaunt, Apostolos Pilaftsis, Mike Seymour and Eleni Vryonidou. The research interests of the group span a broad range of topics from BSM and Particle Cosmology to collider phenomenology and QCD. The group is an integral part of the Manchester Particle Physics Research Group whose experimenters are members of the ATLAS, LHCb, DØ, g-2, Mu2e, MINOS, SuperNemo and IceCube experiments and performs R&D towards the next generation of neutrino experiments.
