The Department of Materials is the largest Materials focused HE activity in Europe and has specialist research focusing on fashion, management, marketing, retailing, ethics and sustainability and textiles alongside aerospace, composites, metals, ceramics, biomaterials and polymers. Accordingly the diversity of the department this allows for an interdisciplinary approach to materials manufacture, management and commercial aspects.
The University is seeking to appoint an outstanding person with a significant proven track record in both teaching and research as well as the leadership qualities required to inform and advance the Department’s teaching and research activities in the field Fashion Business and Technology (FBT), with a particular emphasis upon the area of Fashion Marketing and Management.
The Senior Academic appointment is across the three levels of Senior Lecturer, Reader and Professor in Fashion Business and Marketing, dependent on qualifications and experience. The appointee will be expected to provide education, leadership and direction in the discipline within the department, as well as high quality research in a relevant area of fashion business. You will have experience of REF units of assessment for Business and Management and/or Art & Design.
