The School of Arts, Languages and Cultures at the University of Manchester invites applications for a full-time lectureship post in Egyptology, within the Department of Classics, Ancient History, Archaeology, and Egyptology (CAHAE), tenable from September 1st 2021.

You will have a PhD or equivalent in Egyptology and an excellent level of competence in all stages of the ancient Egyptian script and language (including Old, Middle and Late Egyptian as well as Hieratic), plus a knowledge of ancient Egyptian history and material culture.

You will be expected to contribute to the delivery of teaching on CAHAE’s suite of Egyptology programmes, both by distance learning and by face-to-face lectures and seminars. Experience of distance-learning teaching is essential. You will also be expected to contribute to administrative tasks for the Egyptology group and, where possible, for the wider Department, including participation in regular recruitment activities and staff-student events.
