Manchester Museum is looking for an exceptional Communications Manager to lead and shape communications at a pivotal time in its history.  You will play a critical role in Manchester Museum’s major capital transformation, hello future, opening in late 2022.  You will develop imaginative strategies and produce high-quality content that expresses and reflects the Museum’s vision and values; commitment to inclusion, imagination and care.  Across all aspects of communications, marketing and digital content, you will share the museum’s work in research, learning, civic engagement and international collaboration to build brand recognition and engagement.
You will be a brilliant communicator and collaborator, confident in how museums engage with some of the most relevant, urgent and challenging contemporary debates, including decolonisation and the climate emergency.  This role combines creative and strategic thinking with hands-on doing.  You will lead and support your team, colleagues and partners to reimagine how the Museum’s communications build understanding between cultures and a more sustainable world.
If you are excited by what we could create together, we’d love to hear from you.

We are proud of and actively celebrate Manchester’s rich diversity and believe our teams should reflect our communities and visitors. Be that age, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, religion or sexual orientation. Simply, we have a deep belief that inclusion and diversity create a more inspiring environment to work, where people are treated with respect and can be comfortable being themselves.  We provide adjustments for individuals throughout the recruitment process and working career so you can be at your best.

As an equal opportunities employer, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons and all appointments will be made on merit. As we are committed to the principles of the Race Equality Charter Mark, we would particularly welcome applications from the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) community who are currently under-represented at this level in this area.
