This is an innovative project to create a model to personalise the risk-benefit for men with prostate cancer undergoing radiotherapy. The post holder will develop the methodology to perform a genome-wide association study (GWAS) incorporating the voxelwise radiotherapy dose directly against normal tissue toxicity outcomes. This project is funded by Prostate Cancer UK.

We are looking for an enthusiastic researcher at post-doctoral level, ideally from a physics, statistics or bioinformatics background (or similar) with experience of large-scale data analysis of higher-dimensional medical and/or genomic data. The post holder will work with members of the radiotherapy related research group to devise methods of analysis and apply these across the archive of patients previously treated for prostate cancer at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust and in clinical trial data-sets. The post will fully integrate the 3-dimensional radiotherapy dose and genomic data from every patient to enable us to learn how to treat patients in the future better. Experience with statistical or programming languages is required.

As an equal opportunities employer we welcome applicants from all sections of the community regardless of age, sex, gender (or gender identity), ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation and transgender status.  All appointments are made on merit.
