The Lecturer in Sustainability Education (T&R) post will provide an ideal entry-level or early-career position for a research-focussed academic who is fully committed to students and teaching. We will be launching a Masters-level programme in the area of education for a sustainable environment in September 2022, and you will join part of team comprised of established and recently appointed MIE staff. You will be expected to contribute to and enhance MIE’s research-led teaching in Education, and to develop a research profile consistent with the UoM’s expectations.

You will be joining a thriving and supportive academic environment and will be assigned to one or more active research groupings. MIE has recently embarked on a programme of expansion, and the advertised post is on top of a recruitment cycle that began in summer 2021 and that has brought more than a dozen new colleagues to the department on full-time permanent contracts.  You will therefore be joining a team that is growing rapidly and focused on combining high value scholarship and research with inspirational teaching. We aim to provide all of the backing and mentorship needed for you to fulfil your professional potential in a warm and collegial environment.

If you have applied unsuccessfully for a previously advertised post at MIE, you are welcome to try again. We intend to hold interviews in May, and the successful candidate will join MIE on September 1st 2022 if possible.

As an equal opportunities employer we welcome applicants from all sections of the community regardless of age, sex, gender (or gender identity), ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation and transgender status.  All appointments are made on merit.
