We seek an enthusiastic and skilled Research Associate with a background in preclinical cancer research and an interest and motivation in the development of novel therapeutic technologies. You should be the holder of a Home Office Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 Personal Licence and have demonstrable (hands-on) previous experience in experimental research establishing and using preclinical in vivo models of cancer. In particular, surgical skills in relation to stereotaxic neurosurgery and orthotopic brain cancer models will be preferred. Previous experience, familiarity or a demonstrable interest in nanomedicine and/or cancer immunotherapy will be preferred. You should be able to interact effectively with researchers from a range of backgrounds, in order to contribute to an interdisciplinary programme of research. A basic understanding of cell biology and cell culture techniques will be necessary, and a sound knowledge of immunology will be advantageous.
Successful candidates may be subject to pre-employment screening carried out on our behalf by a third party. As this role involves research at a postgraduate level, applicants who are not an EEA national or a national of an exempt country and who will require sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route of the UK Visas and Immigration’s (UKVI) Points Based System in order to take up the role, will be required to apply for an Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) Certificate and will need to obtain this prior to making any official visa application UKVI)
