School / Directorate: Whitworth Art Gallery

In 1889, we were England’s first art gallery to be built in a park. In 2014, we’re transforming the building to bring the inside out, and outside in. The reopened Whitworth will include two new wings, embracing the park, an art garden and orchard garden created by award-winning landscape designer Sarah Price and a significant number of new outdoor sculptures. As part of our work outside and commitment to all things green, we are recruiting two new roles.

The park keeper reimagined for 21st century Manchester; bringing art, nature and people together. As Cultural Park Keeper you will lead, develop and coordinate dedicated engagement and wellbeing programmes, partnerships and activities with a focus on existing park users and new audiences. You will forge new strategic local partnerships, manage a large team of volunteers and create more opportunities for people to get involved.

This post is supported by a grant from the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation.
