The Centre for the History of Science, Technology and Medicine (CHSTM) offers this position to pursue independent research and scholarly publications in the history of the biological sciences, (including medicine), post 1800. The positions are supported by the Williamson Fund, which was established to further the study of these subjects at the University. Start date is September 2015.
This post would suit a historian of modern biology and/or medicine, broadly construed. You will be expected to specify a research question and/or area of research, and are encouraged to send up to two samples of work with your completed application. (To do this, please save the samples on the end of your CV as one document and upload this to the CV section of your application).
We are particularly interested in work in or across the following areas: ecology and environmental sciences; biomedical sciences; botany and zoology; global health; molecular biology; and biomedicine and its publics.
