Job Description

Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS) is home to four research institutes: Work and Equalities Institute (WEI), Manchester Institute of Innovation Research (MIOIR), Sustainable Consumption Institute (SCI), and The Productivity Institute (TPI).  These institutes are engaged in cutting edge, high quality, and impactful interdisciplinary research on a range of topics, from the nature and causes of inequalities to the impact of innovations in big data and machine learning.

WEI, MIOIR, and SCI are supported by a team of four administrators, an MIOIR-SCI Institute Manager, and a Research Manager.  Each of the administrators has a designated lead area they are responsible for – WEI and recruitment, MIOIR, SCI, and all Institute finances respectively – but they work collaboratively to support each other as and when required.

We are looking for a proactive, well-organised, and experienced administrator to be the primary point for all day-to-day administrative support for WEI, including budgets, communications and events, and to lead all matters relating to recruitment for WEI, MIOIR, and SCI.  The post holder will also assist the WEI Director(s) and AMBS Research Manager with Institute decision-making and reporting by collecting relevant data throughout the year.

What you will get in return:

  • Fantastic market leading Pension scheme
  • Excellent employee health and wellbeing services including an Employee Assistance Programme
  • Exceptional starting annual leave entitlement, plus bank holidays
  • Additional paid closure over the Christmas period
  • Local and national discounts at a range of major retailers
