The University of Manchester has over 16,000 students and staff taking part in organised sport and physical activity through the University. The University recognises the importance of an active lifestyle in both the experiences that these opportunities provide our audiences as well as the positive impact that they have on their wellbeing.
Delivery of our sport and physical activity strategy is through UoM Sport which is based across our campuses primarily in Fallowfield at the Armitage Sports Centre and in Manchester University Students’ Union on Oxford Road. Our activities take place across the city utilising a range of city facilities in supporting our community being active and promoting physical activity opportunities through our facilities and programmes.
The University is therefore looking to appoint a Sport Facilities Officer to manage the work of the Facilities Team and create strategies that aim to increase our physical activity in our university sport facilities, enhance the student experience through our facilities team and create long lasting partnerships both internally and externally which help embed UoM Sport Facilities at the heart of our student, staff and wider community.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for overseeing our sport facilities as well as our Active Manchester offer, identifying gaps in our provision and delivering new ideas and initiatives to meet our key performance indicators along with key colleagues from across the team.
The role holder will also be a keen team player, with the ability to both supervise staff as well as identify and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure we provide a full pathway of opportunities to our students, staff and local community where relevant. Specifically, the role holder will also be required to oversee the delivery of regional and national training camps from our facilities as well as supporting our internal offer to students and staff at the university.
We are therefore looking for an enthusiastic and engaging individual to join UoM Sport to support our students and staff being more physically active in our programmes and facilities.
