
This scheme provides an opportunity for postgraduate researchers working in a social science subject area, e.g., economics, behavioural science, management or innovation studies to undertake a secondment in a business support or professional membership organisation.
The Productivity Institute is seeking to appoint 2 Fellows (0.6 FTE - full-time), for 3-6 months under its Productivity in Practice Fellowship Programme.
The successful candidate will work on developing firm level productivity research by working with Be The Business – an organisation focused on helping UK SME businesses with their productivity. The Productivity Institute and Be the Business would particularly welcome research proposals that investigate the relationship between firm-level productivity and leadership and management; labour and skills; and digital transformation.
The exact scope of the activities during the secondment will be agreed between the Productivity in Practice Fellow and Be The Business; however, it will focus on identifying potential impact drivers, testing, measuring and making recommendations on developing practical interventions that influences behaviour change in leaders of small businesses.

Funding for the Fellowship has been secured through the ESRC, academic stewardship of the Programme lies with The Productivity Institute.
The Productivity Institute encourages early to mid-career researchers with industry experience to apply for a period of 3-6 months.
