Applications are invited for this exciting opportunity for a Research Associate to contribute to the continued success of a robotics hub funded by the EPSRC: ‘Robotics and Artificial Intelligence for Nuclear (RAIN)’.  This project is a collaboration between the Schools of Engineering (EEE) at the University of Manchester, the Universities of Oxford, Bristol, Leeds, Warwick, Reading, Newcastle, Nottingham and Lancaster, the UKAEA’s Remote Applications in Challenging Environments centre (RACE) and leading industrial companies.

You will have (or expect to receive shortly) a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics or have equivalent research experience. In addition, you will have experience in Human Robot Interaction (HRI), i.e. their experimental approach and relevant modelling for HRI. You should have experience in the development of machine learning techniques within robotics applications. You will have a strong publication record and demonstrable experience of successfully working as part of a team.
